Legal Status
A2V Carbon is responsible for the validation or verification opinions it issues based on the information examined. The organizations evaluated remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the declarations and information they provide.
If, during an assignment, information provided appears to be inaccurate, incomplete, or incompatible with applicable requirements, A2V Carbon may suspend or discontinue work, in accordance with applicable rules and contractual conditions.
Mission
A2V Carbon’s mission is to conduct independent validation and verification activities of information related to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The organization operates as an independent third party to evaluate the compliance, consistency, and reliability of the information examined, in light of applicable requirements. A2V Carbon thus contributes to strengthening the credibility of climate data, the transparency of declarations, and stakeholder confidence, within applicable regulatory and voluntary frameworks.
Scope of Activity
A2V Carbon exclusively conducts validation and verification activities of information related to greenhouse gas emissions. The organization does not carry out any consulting, strategic support, project design, or methodology development activities on behalf of the organizations being evaluated. Validation and verification activities may cover:
- GHG emissions declarations and inventories at the organizational level
- Projects or activities related to emission reduction, avoidance, or sequestration
- Different emission scopes, according to the requirements of the applicable reference framework.
A2V Carbon’s scope of intervention is defined and governed by applicable normative, regulatory, or programmatic requirements, as well as by the accreditation framework in force.
